FINAL REPORT ON THE RESEARCH WORK

TO STUDY THE STRESS, VALUE CONFLICTAND COPING  STYLE AMONG WORKING AND NON WORKING WOMEN

                        Due to male dominated culture woman is under – estimated and weaker. “Gender” is the most important factor which a woman considers herself as a female.  So, she has to face the  tense  circumstances.  The percentage of women(sex ratio ) is decreasing day by day, It is just 933 females per thousand males.  Society  treats men and women differently and that affects a woman’s self concept.  So, there is necessity to change the attitude of the society towards women.

            There is the necessity of feminism psychology and research should be done that there will not be misunderstanding about women.

            To answer the questions such as economic crisis, inflation and the success of women’s movement, education are slowly going to being.  That’s why she came out of house for job.  Doing household things she stepped in jobs, career and new exercise for her.   The woman is going to change her face of social roles.   But women’s inferiority than men is a major problem.  Women’s liberation is the Manu’s new challenge.  Male see women’s culture from traditional point of view.

OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY  : 

  1. To study the stress among working and non-working women.
  2. To study the values among working and non-working women.
  3. To study the coping style of working and non-working women.

 RESEARCH METHODOLOGY    :

  3. Coping style study test (K.M.Jadhav & Ashok Borse)

HYPOTHESES :

  1. There is no difference between non-working women having marital life less than 10 years & non working women having ML more than 10 years for their stress style.
  2. There is no difference between non – working women having ML Less than 10 years & non-working women having ML more than 10 years for their values.
  3. There is no difference between working women having ML Less than 10 years & working women having ML more than 10 years for their stress style.
  4. There is no difference between working women having ML less than 10 years and working women having ML more than 10 years for their values.
  5. There is no difference between working women having ML less than 10 years & working women having ML  more than 10 years for their coping style.
  6. There is no difference between non-working women having ML less than 10 years & non- working women having ML more than 10 years for their coping style.
  7. There is no difference between non-working women & working women having ML Less than 10 years for their stress style. 
  8. There is no difference between non-working and working women having ML more than 10 years  for their stress style.
  9. There is no difference between non-working women and working  women & working women having ML more that 10 years for their values.
  10. There is no difference between non- working women & working women having ML more than 10 years for their coping style.

RESULTS : 

          Number of samples (ladies) investigated are 100 women, out of these working women are 50 and non working women are 50.  Out of working women having marital status upto ten years are 25 and having marital status more than ten years are 25 Non working women are divided into two groups, one is having marital life upto ten years are 25 and second is having marital life more than ten years are 25. 

          The analysis and work is described as follows :

          With reference to the hypotheses No. H1 to H 7 ,  Mean SD & ‘t’  and calculated and obtained ‘t’ is less than 1.96 for 48 dif at 0.05 level.  Hence, the hypotheses NO. 1 to 7  are accepted and there is no significance difference.

          With reference to the hypotheses  H 8  to H 10, Mean SD and ‘t’ are calculated and obtained ‘t’  more than 1.96 for 48 df at 0.05 level.  Hence, the hypotheses   are rejected.  These is significant difference seen in the 8th  to 10th  hypotheses, given above.

SUMMARY :

          To study the stress, value conflict & coping style of working and non – working women researcher focused on the significance of the problem with respect to individual differences.  The methodology is adopted in scientific form. 

CONCLUSIONS :

  1. There is no difference between non-working women having ML less than 10 years and non-working women having ML More than 10 years for their stress, values & coping style. 
  2. There is no difference between working women having ML less than 10 years & working women having ML more than 10 years for their stress, values and coping style. 
  3. There is no difference between non-working women having ML less than 10 years and working women  having ML more than 10 years for their stress.
  4. There is a difference between non-;working women and working women having ML more than 10 years for their stress, values and coping style. 

LIMITATIONS: 

  1. There is lack of awareness among women.  So, few women are not in position to provide the correct information.  It is only because of illiteracy.  So the work should be extended by other research students in the context.
  2. Further researcher may select samples on a large scale from urban & rural areas.
